Plumes is a neo-classical / indiepop crossover project centered around Canadian singer songwriter Veronica Charnley. Originally from Montréal now based in Paris, Plumes has released three critically acclaimed albums and has toured internationally, playing at such festivals as Cluster: New Music and Integrated Arts Festival, Innovations en concert, NXNE and Sound of Bronkow.
About their latest release, critics are saying, “…Oh Orwell is one of the year's best albums and a great example of sincere, introspective avant-pop at its finest.” (Exclaim! September, 2019) and “… There are so many musical bursts of colour on Oh Orwell that not even a kaleidoscope could contain Plumes…” (Dominionated, September 2019)
Blending classical music techniques with pop sensibility and using original texts as well as setting poems by poets such as Emily Dickinson, Goethe and Marina Tsvetaeva to music, Plumes is romantic and adventurous, bridging continents et d’univers divers.
